It’s another gorgeous, hot, sunny day! Oh, it’s so nice to soak up some sunshine! Poor little William came down with the flu yesterday. He couldn’t keep anything down, not even his medicine to bring down his fever. But he seems to be on the mend today. I have to say, my hubby is an incredible father! When our kids are sick, he doesn’t leave their side. Looks after every single need they have. When Noah was having his many asthma attacks a while back, Marc would stay awake watching him breathe… Oh, wait, I have strict orders not to talk about him here! Shhh, don’t tell. Although, I don’t think he reads it anymore so I’m safe. Let’s just say, I really appreciate how good he is with the kids!
Here’s a shot of little Willy a few days ago, before the flu hit.

Saturday, we participated in a community clean-up with our church. It was great to get the kids involved but probably not something we’d do again, considering the type of garbage we had to pick up. At least the kids are at an age where they don’t have any idea what it was. Another family that we were with had 3 girls ranging in age from 7 years to about 13, and it was much harder for them to explain. Our goal was to help the kids understand their responsibility to do their part and that was a success. Sophia and Noah were thrilled to be “making the world a more beautiful place to live”. William, on the other hand, couldn’t care less! Well, he is only 2. It was cute… I had gotten them each a pair of tiny gardening gloves. As we began, Sophia and Noah were excited and put lots of garbage in the bag. I pointed to some garbage on the ground and asked William if he wanted to put it in the bag. He replied, “No, I don’t tink so. I just going t’ watch.” LOL!
A few shots from the day:

I haven’t been doing much digi scrapping lately. I have been plowing through my unfinished paper layouts and I’m quite enjoying working with paper right now. I just have no interest in being on the computer. Well, I have a very good reason! Computer issues again! This time, it was the power cord. A few weeks ago, I bought a new one and everything was fine. And then, last weekend, William was spinning in my chair at my desk and knocked my computer off the desk. Marc said it didn’t fall too hard and figured it’d be fine but when I started it up, it wouldn’t recognize that it was plugged in. I quickly backed up what I needed before the battery died. What happened was the computer fell on the plug and it pushed the jack (is that the right word?) in… where the plug goes into the computer. It would have to be sent out to be fixed and likely gone for a week or 2 and cost about $150. I decided to just put the thing out of it’s misery. That poor laptop has been through a lot. Marc has an old LG that I’m using now and there’s nothing wrong with it. But you know how it is… it just isn’t as comfortable. Right now, my wrists are hurting just from this bit of typing because of the way the keyboard is set up. What really annoys me is the $100 I spent on the new power cord just a few weeks ago! Oh, well.
Finally, I received a ‘Friends’ award from Joanne! The award is for “blogs that are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more.” Thanks, Joanne! I’m honoured you thought of me! I want to give the award to:
Helen, Leah, Christine, Nichole, and Susan, who hasn’t blogged in a while so maybe we can twist her arm into updating us on what she’s been up to! And can I just say that I’m sorry that I don’t comment as much anymore. I usually only have a few minutes to catch up with what’s happening on the blogs and sites. But reading your blogs is one of the highlights of my day!
Will return soon with more news! Have a great day!
